This is a white-glazed sencha bowl crafted by Yukiko Saito, a potter and tea artist at Sigetsu Kiln. The soft shape created using a kick wheel, the antique-like presence, and the rich expressions from iron spots and crackling are the charm of this teaware.
As you continue to use it, you can look forward to the bowl gradually developing a characterful expression. With a capacity of approximately 70ml, it’s ideal as a teacup for sencha or Chinese tea, or even as a sake cup. A shiboridashi teapot and yuzamashi (tea pitcher) from the same series are also available.
